I remember the first time I smelled eucalyptus, I was hooked immediately. I started buying everything that smelled like it; candles, hand sanitizer, body oil, you name it I bought it. Like any other thing I become obsessed with, I start researching a lot on it to learn more about it. And boy did the cool facts I learned made me stan even harder, (hence why I’m making a whole blog post about it). So here’s my top 3 reasons why I LOVE eucalyptus, and why you should too.
1. Smells amazing, duh!
Of course the smell had to be my first point. I was recently gifted a Dr.Teals Eucalyptus Spa Set that had everything from body lotion to bath salt. My favorite thing out the entire set though was the body oil, and when I tell y’all I was in literal heaven..I felt and smelt like literal heaven. Not only is inhaling the smell such a great experience, it is also great for your mental-wellbeing.
Eucalyptus has aromatheraputic benefits that help reduce brain fog and increase relaxation. So not only do I use the body oil, I use eucalyptus shower steamers as well. That plus the oil right after the shower, is a game changer as you would imagine.
2. Reduces dandruff
As some of you may know, I am a loctician and the different dandruff cases I see varies from minimal to extreme. With that being said, I am always on the hunt to find the best natural ways to help combat dandruff issues, and eucalyptus always popped up as a top natural way to help.
Eucalyptus has anti-fungal properties that significantly reduces flakes and also soothes irritation from dry itchy scalp.
3. Anti-Inflammatory
In addition to its fight to reduce dandruff, it is also anti-inflammatory and anti-fungal, making it great to use on skin infections. Wounds, cold sores, burns, etc can all be treated with eucalyptus oil.
Quick tip
When using eucalyptus oil, it is important to make sure it is diluted correctly so you won’t cause any skin irritations. Read more here to learn more about its potential side effects & how to properly dilute at home.
Conclusion
Eucalyptus all around has great benefits and what I touched on in this post is only the tip of the iceberg. Hopefully I taught you something new and made you become a stan like me!
