This post is all about my recommended loc products.

After 5 years of being loc’d, the most asked question I get is:
“What products do you use?“
It’s funny because people are often shocked by how basic my list of products are.
I keep it very simple—I use the least amount of product and the most affordable accessories.
Our loc routines should lean on leisure, not overcomplicated to-do lists.
So in today’s blog, I’m going to list all my leisure favorites and fill you in on why they’re my favs.
Hopefully you can take from my list and add to yours!
This post is all about my recommended loc products.
Table of Contents
Aloe Vera Gel
I have used aloe vera gel since I started my locs. It’s the one product that has carried me through my journey while every other product fell by the wayside (no shade Shine&Jam).
From starter loc gel to retwist product, aloe vera does it all. It’s nourishing, anti-inflammatory, anti-bacterial, and organic. It’s literally perfection in a bottle. I will always recommend aloe vera gel to anybody, hands down.
Got2b Glued Edge Control
Now if you know me, you know I love a good baby hair. It’s an art and I take it very seriously. I’ve dabbled in a lot of different edge controls and Got2b Glued has always held me down—literally.
I recently tried their Got2b Glued Brows & Edges Gel and I’m obsessed. It’s small enough to carry with on the go and I’m all about staying prepared.
Scarfs & Bandanas
You can say I’m addicted to them at this point. The way they take me from 0 to 100 needs to be studied.
A quick side burn baby hair and a beat face? I mean come on, it makes getting dressed so much easier. 9/10 I thrifted the scarf that I’m wearing, and I get all my bandanas from the beauty supply.
It’s so simple, yet effective.

Jojoba Oil
Going on 5 years of being a loctician, I’ve noticed not all scalp types can use the same product. Some people’s scalp react better to gel, foam, and or oil. After recently switching to oil-only retwists using jojoba oil, I’ve noticed a huge difference in my clients’ scalp health.
Sealing in hydration is key to keeping your scalp and locs healthy, and jojoba oil does just that. Because jojoba oil mimics the scalps’ natural oil, this helps balance dryness, seals in moisture, and leaves a natural shine without piling on multiple products.

DIY Daily Hydration Mist
I can be the first to admit, once my locs became mature, I stopped spraying them as much as I used to. But I’m here to tell you, don’t stop what has got you to where you are.
Creating your own daily hydration mist is super simple. Here’s all you’ll need:
- Spray bottle
- Leave-in conditioner (I’ve been obsessed with Sienna Naturals Dew Magic Leave-in Conditioner)
- Your Favorite Hair Oil
Shake it up in your spray bottle and you now have your own daily hydration mist!
Ors Olive Oil Mousse
Mousse or as I normally call it, foam, has become a staple product in my leisure favorites over the years. The way this product can lay any hair type down…it’s practically magic. Fly aways? Foam. Baby hairs? Foam. Retwists? FOAM. I mean you can literally use this product for e v e r y t h i n g.
If you don’t get anything else from this list, get you some of this mousse boo. You won’t regret it.
Satin Pillow Case
True Life: I don’t wear a bonnet every night.
I know, revoke my black card but hear me out. Once I started using my satin pillow case, it didn’t matter if I wore it or not— I was going to be protected either way it went.
If you have locs, a satin pillowcase is non-negotiable. As your locs grow longer, fitting them into a regular bonnet can become tricky, but with a satin pillowcase, your locs stay safe while you sleep.
Loc Sock
And the perfect segue into my next leisure favorite. If you’re still wearing a standard bonnet for your locs, it’s time to pivot. You are officially loc’d and need the tools that will grow with you throughout your journey.
Not only are loc socks perfect for bed, but it can transform from night to day with a few tricks.
Check out this loc sock hack that has changed the game for me!
