Every black girl knows the struggle, having to detangle, wash, and grease your hair is by far the most excruciating chores to get through. Keeping our hair in protective styles is the only way we can get a break from having to deal with it on a daily basis.
Locs are seen as the most low maintenance hairstyle. There’s not much to it but letting it lock, washing, and retwisting; no detangling. But is it really as simple as it looks?
Being able to get up and go is the magic behind locs. A good shake and mist on your locs and your’e good to go. Learning to be confident during your good and bad hair days is key when starting locs. Once you get that down pack, it’s nothing else to really keep up with.
Just like every other hairstyle you have to keep it healthy and put together. Loc wash days can be somewhat of a hassle sometimes, with the whole drying process can add on an additional hour or two. But after that wash and retwist, it can last you at least 4 weeks and even longer depending on how you care for it after.
Locs can be a really good alternative if you love wearing you natural hair but hate doing it. It gives you the freedom to wear your locs in a plethora of hairstyles from 2 strand twists, curly, ponytails, etc. But I’m sure if you’re a lazy girl, you’ll love for them to just flourish and do their thing.
