We all know the feeling of getting a fresh retwist – the instant glow your skin gets, the boost of confidence you gain, and let’s not forget the amount of pictures you take of yourself that day.

Depending on how well you care for your retwist after the fact, your locs will soon begin to become untamed again and this is where the true beauty lies – but only a small percentage feels that way…why?

Be confident in your natural state

Being confident in your skin is not the easiest thing to do, we tend to point out every single “flaw” we see, feeling like we need to be perfect to to operate in today’s society.

But I am here to assure you that nothing is more beautiful than the crown you hold.

As a black woman, we are always told that our hair is “unprofessional” in its natural state and keeping it tamed (straighten, edges laid, keep up retwist, etc) will make us more appealing to the eye and all of its untrue.

Save money and stop thinning

If you’re petrified of your locs one day thinning, not getting a retwist too often well help prevent that. Not giving your hair enough time to thicken and loosen up will only make the loc weaker and thinner overtime.

Being untamed will allow hair to flourish.

Not going too often will also help you save tons of money. Lociticians these days are charging $100 for a retwist, so that price should definitely scare you into loving your locs the way they are!

All in all, your locs are beautiful which ever way you decide to wear them, but know that loving your crown in its natural state will not only bring self confidence..

but the sense of freedom.
